05 500 Manual one year later
Hi everybody,
I sure enjoy reading and studying all the posts about my AC quad on this site.Thanx to you all,it is very educational and helpfull.
One year later,my experience:
Changed oil at 500 miles to syntethic oil( changed oil 2x in between). It appears that engine is running quiter and has more torque.
Installed jet Kit,instalation was easy, performance is noticably better(maybe 10-15%better,hard to tell).I notice a kick in a pants, when I need the extra power or speed.
Changed out the standard stock tires with 4 x 27 inch MudLites, now I can go practicaly anywhere my old bones want to go.The trade off is a drop in power, hence the jet kit. However, when the ridding is on mostly "dry trails" I put the standard tires on again,as the ride bacomes realy smooth and powerfull.
I have to cheer for the independent suspension,if it was NOT for this kind of comfy ride,my quading days would have been over by now.So thanx to Artic Cat for giving us a powerfull, comfy machine.
Would I buy another one?? You bet,I would.
That is my opinion and experience after one year.I did NOT have any other issues or problems.
Any question are welcome.Take care you all...........

Who makes an aftermarket exhaust for a 500?
I have a 05 500 manual that I mainly use in Colorado at 10,000-14,000 feet elevation.
I have it jetted correctly for the thin air, but there is still quite a bit of power loss(running 27s also).
I never ride in deep water or mud, so would like to open the air box and exhaust up to get some power back
