I can see it now you coming down the trail with all your riding gear,boat paddles strap to the racks and a life jacket around you neck..lol that would be to funny.[have those little orange floats on your arms]all in all glad to hear [you can swim] your ok.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

I would be careful with the starter fluid. You could blow a head gasket, or even strip the bolts and lift the head right off; I've seen it done with car engines.

Agreed on the starting fluid. I try to avoid using it whatever the situation. If you did get it to start with it, and you had water in the cylinder you'd be more likely to bend the rod or at least blow by the rings.
Starting fluid does work great for finding vacume leaks though.
