Is it worth it to get a big bore kit. And does it cause any problems with a 398 to a 435.

That is a 9.2% increase in displacement! What are you lacking that you think this modest, at best, added power will do for you?

I guess I dont understand why someone would tear apart a prefectly good engine and modify it, given that the engineers that designed it (and have tested it) went to college and the company behind them likely invested a great deal of money with the goal of making good product, not one that needs to be reinvented. Indeed, all bikes are not for all people, hence the numerous choices out there. my 0.02.

Every guy that I know, 3 of them, that has gone with a big bore kit has complained that the reliablity that the stock engine had was gone and the power increase wasn't worth the down time from breakage.

It depends on what you want to do with the machine. I don't think there would be a big difference in realibility.

i also want to stretch the rear out as far as i can but i still wanted to be able to ride wheelies and i was thinking that if i had more power i could stretch it out farther and still be able to ride wheelies

What kit are you looking into buying. The best kit you can get is the yoshimura 450 kit. To get the most possible power out ouf your engine you should have an exhaust system, cdi, airfilter, and cams. No matter how much power you have extending the swing-arm will always make it harder to get the front wheels off the ground, and making the turning radius larger. +4 swing-arm would be good for dunes, and you should still be able to wheelie.

I currently use an Athena 434 kit, with Yoshi Exhaust and Edelbrock Carb and believe me she'll run with the 450's somewhat built. Alot of it is rider, not horsepower. I'm probably going to have mine stroked here shortly. I actually have 2 DVX's that are 434's. I use one for Flat Track and the other one for MXing - I have my 4x4 Arctic (400 & 300) for hunting and misc.
