TRV 500 no front locker wondering why ??
My brother wanted to get a 500 TBX model but they didn't have one in stock so they said they would sell him the TRV model and a box you could install where the seat goes..which is pretty neat..But then I noticed it does not have the front wheel locker ..This is the only model that doesn't have it I wonder what was the thinking behind this??...Personally I wouldn't buy one without it..maybe that's why they are not selling many also the seat isn't very comfortable

I can say from first hand expereince that the TRV is cabable of going places without a locker that would be measured as a serious breech of pax consideration. And... the TRV goes places the others with lockers can't go. Been there - watched that - towed thier butts out....lol Seriously - must be something to do with weight distrbution and wheel base. Side hill, a little snow.... 45 degrees all the way down the hill side...doh!

i asked the same thing when i bought my 06 the dealer told me it was the wheelbase, the company thought it would not be a safe machine because it makes the sterring harder and it already is diffrent with the longer bike so it was a safety issue, sometimes i wish mine hade it but truthfully i have never needed it!

I dont buy into the wheelbase thing.I think thats just what the dealership will tell you to justify selling a TRV without having a front locker.
I own the big 800 from Bombardier and its the 2-seater version. I would not dream of buying another 4x4 if it did not have the capability to lock up the front wheels in the serious terrain[already been there once],ESPECIALLY the 2-up version. My 800 Max is only 8 inches LONGER than the single seat 800 and turning has not been an issue. And ADDING another rider with weight being distributed towards the rear of the ATV,only adds justification that it would be more benifical to have both front wheels turning with power in the serious muck.
It's my bet that A/C will soon add a front locker to their TRV line-up in the very NEAR future!

I wouldn't mind a 800cc machine but not a bomber. Why they made a two up machine 2 inches narrower then the other 2ups (AC and Polaris) when we pretty much all agree that wider is better I cant even begin to explain. And how are we to compare the MRP rackage to the bomber or polaris. Are those plastic racks on the bomb? I think polaris has a start with thier new rack attachment system but they need to expand on the attachable accessories. I carry a huge load of added on gear with my 500's if I needed something in the $10,000+ arena that did more - it would say JEEP on the front of it and be legal on the roads as well.

Yeah and I have been on my back under the machine from "too much traction". It takes brains to ride safe, knowing the machine's and your own limitations. Your statement sounds like the "more horsepower is always better" crowd.
