I have no clear answer on that, officially oversize tires void your warranty but what is oversized, Cat sells 26" tires in their accessory catalog. My advice is check with your dealer and buy aftermarket tires from him take your quad to him only for your service, as he is the one who is reponsible for getting the warrenty for you.

Default Pulling loads with the duramatic?

I like my 500 TRV and my wife loves it. She allows me to ride it (actually drive it!) every now and then. It tows very well and hauls 2 full grown adults through just about anything you can point it at. I found that when I ran the 26 inch mudlites on it that it had a habit of turning into what is termed a "manure spreader" effect on both the passenger and driver. It was still unstoppable and towed very well through. The stock tires worked just as well but did not dig as much which I needed at times.

We have peat moss like tundra moss around here. It is very pretty when in full color during th esummer, but very misleading as it can hide a big mud hole. You can drive across it a few times but as soon as the surface breaks open it will swallow what ever is there. So you need the stock tires while its solid and heaven forbid you should ever break through you need the mud tires to dig your way out. I have not seen a tire that is the best of both worlds yet.

Someone mentioned earlier about the engine braking. I have not had a problem with the TRV. Actually with all the towing I do and after 3500 miles it still has the original brake pads. Even my wife comments on not needing the brakes all the time due to the effectiveness of the engine breaking. I thinkit s Polaris that you have to be onthe gas to keep the RPM's up to get engine braking to kick in. That sounds scary.

The new TRV has the interchangable rack/seat/box but I do not think has the diff-lock. I am looking at the TBX as is has the box on it but I have been told has the diff-lock.

Overall, I have about 3500miles on the TRV (most of that towing), other than the tires, a few rubber bushings, and regular oil changes it hasn't missed a beat. I would reccomend it to anyone but I am not a fan of the "digital" instrument pods or EFI. Too many computers involved for me.

I am currently running 27" Bearclaws on my 400 ACT. I didn't find it robbed too much power, then again, I put them on at 400 miles. I did, however, find that just the mass of these tires really accelerates the wear of other components such as shock bushings, brake shoes, A-arm bushings and bearings. If I didn't already have them on, I would have to recommend no bigger than a 26" for the 400. When I buy new tires, they will be 26", and probably Mudbugs. The 26" Bearclaws have a shallow tread pattern and is the only reason I'd change brands.

Well, dang - the TRV does NOT have a locker. I checked Cat's site. That was one thing I was hoping to cure - my '02 500i doesn't have a locker either, and there have been occasions on my rough-as-a-cob farm that I could have used one.

Looks like it's the 650 H1 for me, unless someone knows a cheap way to get a locker onto a TRV.

I wouldnt think 26" tires affect warranty because my 650 came with them as the stock tires, but thats mabey just the 650
