start in gear feature not working
#1
i realized the other day the when i step on my rear brake the brake light doesnt come on and also my start in gear in feature wont work on that brake but works fine on the front brakes any ideas

i did the same as crashinit. i took it out. all it did was rattle and not work. the start in gear only works useing your hand brake lever not the foot. unless they have changed that now.

The switch is bad on the foot lever. It needs to be changed out. As to the rear brake not working, when you first got th machine did you burnish the foot brake like you did the fron't brakes. If not, it's not gonna work for crap. My foot brake will lock up the rears.

I've had the same problem. Like Bear says, check the harness. Mine was completely broke off when it happened to me. there about 20 bucks to replace and takes about 2 minutes to change out.

Rango,
I've had your problem. And like you said, the breaks work fine, just not the tail light and it won't start in gear. Like Bear said, it is the cable. It is found just inside your rear wheel well behind the foot brake peddle. Mine broke off completely and I had a cable hanging there. Its not the best design. The cable is routed up the frame and has a plug that terminates behind the engine. Its really easy to change. But.... the cable has a plunger style switch on it. It is meant to attach to the frame, and is held in place by a round plastic nubbin. If you have more problems let me know and i'll take some pictures of mine and send them too you.
Cheers
