Default AC 500 .........hell of a quad

trvman

Thank you for your answers, I really like the looks and the versatility of the cat,
there are only 2 things that bother me though, one it seems like they go through
a lot of axles, I don't know if this is from guys with lifts or what. Second I know that
cat had a problem with frames breaking, I was wondering if this problem was fixed.
Have you had any problem with any of your machines at all. Also what kind of mileage
are you getting with yours, like how many miles to a tank of gas. One last question,
do you think you suffer from not having a locker on it.

Thanks for all your help, I am trying to get as informed as possible before making
a desicion

I don't believe there is an issue with the either the axels or frames. I ride with a lot of AC riders, and no one has had an issue. Mileage is something I don't even worry about. Mileage is far to difficult to determin due to the riders weight, agressiveness, terrain, etc....

the frame issue is only on the v2 not the 500 and i do belive the axle problem is because people put bigger tires OR a very aggressive tire combo/lift with out upgradeing, i think if the atv (any) came with 25" leave it at that it was made to handle that size of tire with that axle it would only make sence if you get bigger tires get bigger axles, out of the box you cant beat AC, i will get 60-70 miles per tank and my riding style is slower than alot (i like to see what i am riding in) the milelege on my 03 2500 and on my 06 300 i dont put alot of time on them during the winter but when i can put 3 people and a 200 pd. mule deer on one trv and drive 8 miles out of the mountians that is a sign of a most grand bike.

I think the frame issue was actually the 400.
