650 V2 low top speed
#11
I felt no power increase when the Dyna was installed I also had a problem with ignition cutting out completely for a few seconds. I had one on my Prairie 650 and there is no way you would not know it was working, the power increase was amazing. I spoke to Scott at Dyna and he said my unit passed all testing and they could not replicate any problems. He did however say that the 05 and 06 AC 650's had a very sensitive rollover switch that was shutting down ignition on some instalations but was isolated to the machine. He is sending me a new unit and if the problem persists we will disconnect the rollover sensor.

Good info. I have an '06 I have a Dyna CDI unit which will be installed in May upon my return to WY. I'll be sensistive to the roll over switch issue. I would not have done that if you had not noted it here. Thanks.

I have a stock 2004 650 that consistantly runs 62 M.P.H (high range 2wd) on flat hard packed
gravel roads. Have a seat/storage unit on the back rack. Run 7 p.s.i. in the tires.
The speedo on the ATV is only off by 1 M.P.H. (Have compared it several times to my Garmin
GPSmap76CSx). I agree with JimJa, check your speedo with a G.P.S. as some ATVs and
vehicles are wayyyy off. Have never ran the ATV wide open on flat pavement ,
anyone find much of difference in speed on flat pavement compared to gravel.

The 27"ers will make your speedo read slower, My Griz was reading about 8mph. faster with stock 25s on when I put the 27s on it was right with gps. This is noted in dirt wheels about the Griz speedo and im sure others are also off.

hey boys my 04 650 would do 66-67mph on gps i have a new tony stewart 650 is it any faster going to drive the new 700 today it if any faster i will not buy it i can do about 53 mph with 28 mudzillas on the 2004 650 shakes like hell but gets you through the mud

Yesterday afternoon I ran it on pavement, I got 59 MPH on a 1/4 mile run, thats only 1 MPH indicated less than with stock tires. I wonder why it would only go 53 on sand.

mine bone stock would do 68 and after the 27 inch tires and clutch kit with the dyna cdi it will still do between 60 and 64 it fluctuates now. and i gotta ask does it have awesome power when you crack it down in low range? cause nobody cares about top speed on a utility but how much power you carry from bottom to mid range to get them tires whippin.

More than enough power down low to mid, no complaints there. Sometimes when I ride in Maine and some nothern NH fire roads, streaches of flat roads in between mud areas can go for 5 miles, where speeds of 60 are the norm for my riding group consisting of Grizzlies, Rincons and and Sportsman's.

Why don't you just compare yours to one of your buddies quads with their speedometers? Just a suggestion, that way you could see if your speedo is off, and see what your top speed is for a second opinion. Later.
