venom winch v-2 650
#2
I put a warn winch on my 06 400 auto. I put the contactor under the seat. Basically right where your crouch would sit on the seat on the 400 there is a nice flat piece of steel. I drilled 4 holes and ran the wires along the frame and wire tied them. AC has mounting holes along the oil cooler bracket but I wouldn't want my contactor getting buried in the mud and under water.

I have the same winch, and he is right. Mount it under the seat, about half under the "glove box". I didnt drill holes, i just ty wrapped it and it holds fine. Just run the wires olongside the airbox, by removing the glove box, and down to the winch.

I installed a Venom as well, I highly reccommend disasembling it and greesing the heck out of it. I had mine installed for a month and after the second time I used it, it was binding up, the greese was hard inside.

What type of grease are you using, and is it a pain in the as* to do the job?

Four bolts, get area and a couple of clean rags, be carefull and take your time. I cleaned the brushes first, then pulled apart the two gear packs and just covered them in lithium grease.
