I as in 500i stands for independent which was used 02-03,meaning the 500 had independent
rear suspension which wasnt the only choice then.They had solid axles too then unlike now.LE means limited
edition which consists of chrome/polished aluminum rims,accessory bumpers//brushguards,warn winch,and sometimes a color only available in LE,auto tranny. Regular has basic options like ugly grey rims,red or green plastic,no accessory bumpers,or winch,manual tranny,or auto for more,ect.
