Default AC 700 EFI who has one???

JJonJon makes some good points. So much is dependant on a person's likes. I think that the Arctic Cat offers a better, plush ride; others don't. I am not a fan of the Polaris racks, the guys I know have a problem with then leaking, and I need strong, metal racks for the type of work I put my ATV through. LockNride has a little ways to go before it is in the same league as the Speedrack, however both accessories are way over priced. Some people also prefer the Polaris AWD system, I don't mainly for the lack of engine braking in the front wheels.

I used to ride only Polaris's so I have nothing against them, however after being on my third Arctic Cat there is no way I am going to go back. It is not that I don't like them, just that the Arctic Cat is less maintenance (no greese zerks) and better for my needs.

You're right You're right.. They definatly are two different machines.. BUT the thing they most have in common with each other is weight.. Both are built pretty tough, and thats why i like them.. As far as them being faster than the 700, IF they are faster, i would think it would be from the lag, and what yr model is you're friends SP700?? But then again, all of this is unproven so its kindof pointless to talk a/b...
I have no arguement for the racks, cause myself i would personally rather have metal racks (escpecially since i've come off of Honda's my whole life) but then again, i've never had any problems with the plastic racks, alot of people hear "plastic" and they get scared, and personally, i DO work my ATV and they've withheld just fine. Maybe not as good as metal, but still good. You're friends racks leak? how can racks leak? I dont use the accessories, but i do agree that they are way over priced.. Polaris is working on the fix for the downhill Engine breaking, and I personally think when you ride you're ATV day in and day out, or alteast 5 days a week. You get tired of putting it in 4x4 and then 4x4 Locked, all the time.. i do when im when im on my friends, i like just flipping it on and going, at any speed.. And i ride mainly mud/Water.. so i know for certain situations a Diff Lock is better, like rocks .. So i do prefer Polaris' AWD.. It will most definatly boil down to what you prefer JP466, but just remember, Polaris has only gotten better since 2001.. Alot better

But if any of you have read any of my recent post, you'll see that im in the market for a new quad, and with AC right outside my door, and with the Polaris dealer almost an hour away, i think im try an '07 650H1SE Camo.. LoL, ill definatly go test drive it... and the people over there at AC know my family has bought products from them and they nag me all the time a/b buying Polaris.. So if i get another ATV im gonna HAVE to buy one from them lol..

My big complaint with the polaris when I did my shopping for a new wheeler was where they decided to put the radiator. Mud packing into the radiator seems to be an issue I have seen.

In your favor jonjon, the 700sp is an 05, and not Fuel Injected. (i believe that polaris slacked in the HP department a little in the 700 non FI. ) The 800 will easily take me when im stock.

Ahh you got me there. i see. But you also must factor in, the lag for the AC700EFi, and since the 800SP blew the KQ away, and the AC has the KQ motor, with an additional 125 pounds, i would think they SP700efi would have a chance, and the 800 should easily take it........... BUT i just got back from the AC dealer a few minutes ago, and i asked them when they will get the '07s in, and he said they have their first one on the way and i guess i have good luck because he said its a Dark Green '07 H1 SE coming in next week, so im getting ready to go test drive ..

"....and since the 800SP blew the KQ away...."

In my experiences the 800SP does not blow my King Quad away in power, it's right behind the 800 like within 1 quad length when you get on the throttle, just wait untill VDI comes out with their ECM for the KQ to eliminate the low end lag on the King and it should work for the AC 700 EFI as well, it'll REALLY wake up the King, and I'll be able to take heavy PoPo's easily.

I know all about the low end lag. And i personally cant wait until its taken care of. Thats one reason i never wanted a KQ... and didnt mean to say it would blow a KQ away easily. But it is a known fact that the 800 is a little quicker and faster. So i was sayin if the AC700EFi has the same engine as the KQ700EFI and the SP800 is faster than the KQ, that means it HAS to be faster than the AC700EFI, b/c its just "pretty much" the same quad, with the same engine, but with an additional 125 lbs.

It might not be faster though, gearing has a lot to do with it. I think the rear drive is different.

JJonJon, I agree that the AC 700 wouldn't be as fast as the Popo 800, in all terrain magazine they had a shootout with the KQ, AC 700, and the Popo 800 all competing in it. They gave the Popo 800 a 50 out of 60 power rating, the KQ got a 43.5 and the AC 700 got a 37.5. So it is clear that the 800 is more powerful, 760cc's is a lot of displacement advantage to make up from 695cc.

But...Both the KQ 700 and the AC 700 will feel like different ATV's with entirely unrestricted ECM's from VDI, no company has came out with a replacement ECM for the 695cc...just fuel adjustors. It'll unleash the beast that I know lives within...I can feel it at idle...I expect bigger power gains than the V-twins got from VDI.
