Default 650 V2 Heat Question

i went riding with my inlaws and wife today at spider lake. (by the way the trails are crappy and dusty). bu thats not the problem. the heat icon came on today twice while we were riding and we had to stop so i could shut my wheeler off and let it cool? is that normal or what do you think my problem is. theres enough coolant in it. i checked the radiator and there was crap in the top half but not the bottom half. i guess when i clean i shoot thru the bottom half only. could that be the problem? the top half of fins are full of stuff? i know it was a warm day and all but my inlaws polaris kept going and thats a problem when the AC is outdone by the POlariS. so any advice or knowledge of what the problem is please let me know. thanks so much.

I dont know, ive never had this problem. I did flush my radiator, and upgrade to High Performance Racing Coolant, which helps it run cooler. Mabey try that.

It shouldn't overheat, that top part of the radiator needs to be cleaned out though - that is probably what did it. I actually had that happen to my H1 when I was at Red Top.

Is your fan still coming on? Make sure you didn't blow a fan fuse too.

Clean the rad. and you will be surprised how much that helps. I give my rad. a light wash with the garden hose every time I clean my ATV's. I have a neighbor with the 650 Kaw ATV and was having the same problem. After cleaning the rad. more often it has not happened since. Happy trails to ya.
