Which ITP Tire to buy?
#1
I've decided to go with ITP but want your opinion on 589s vs. Mudlite vs. Mudlite XTR. The XTRs are about $50 more per tire. I ride a lot of thick mud/clay in NC...not mud bogging, just the usual muddy trails, hard-pack trails, and streams. I currently have the stock Carlisle Badlands which come off the rim, become slick tires in the mud, so I want a tire that's self cleaning...hence ITP. Please give me any opinions, thanks!
By the way, just got my 300 mile service done and it's like a new machine. It starts better then before, the brakes are better, and rev's more consistent in neutral. Still impressed with my Cat.

i have the mudlite XTRs on my machine (check my page for nice pics of them). i had hundreds of miles on mine with no visible signs of any wear yet even. it hasnt even wore past the lines carved into the tread top yet. they are extremely smooth riding. i use them at 6 and i use them at 60. no vibration or noise and any speed. do better than mudlites in the mud, not sure about 589s though. ive outdone many a tire with these though thats for sure. self cleans very well, better than other ITP tires. no need for me to carry on and on, just buy them. i got mine relatively cheap. 360 shipped to me. PM me is you want a link.

I am sorry but for about 20 bucks cheaper you could go with dirt devils. They have almost the same pattern and work just as well. I have the dirt devils on right now and have had the mud lites on also, I did not notice any difference with my TRV. Either way you get a great tire.

i dunno about the XTR's the only thing i know is they are radial and i am anti radial for the arctic cat's. i do have 589's on mine and i love them. i have 2000 miles on them and they are still at probably about 90+ percent tread. with the 6-ply tires you will have less body roll then radials as well. (once again i am not bashing the xtr's cause i have no experience with them) i have had my 589's up against mud lites in the mud and the 589's dig alot harder and clean better but they can also dig you down faster to. i guess i found the 589's aren't a fanessing tire in the mud they are a right down the middle ***** to the walls tire. oh the 589's are one of the toughest tires on the market for punctures as well, i actually sliced mine on a nail or something on the sidewall and was able to drive it home, hardly noticed it and it was a front tire. bottom line i guess is any tire you choose is better then stock.
