Tire suggestions for A/C 500 Auto
#1
I just purchased a 2007 500 and am considering upgrading my tires to facilitate riding in mud/muskeg in the north. I don't know much about tires but am considering the ITP Mudlites either radial or convential. I have a few questions and would appreciate any feedback:
1. I was thinking of going from a 25 inch to a 26 inch tire and wonder if they will rub on my machine.
2. I note the radials are offerred in a 26 x 9 x 12 (front) and 26 x 11 x 12 (rear) whereas the convential tire is 26 x 10 x 12 (front) and 26 x 12 x 12 (rear). Does anyo9ne know why the radial tire offerred is not the same size as the convential tire.
3. Any other suggestions as to what choice I should make.
Thankyou.

The mudlites are ok, but have heard they wear down fast. I personally love my tires, and will buy them again when needed. The XTRs are supposed to be pretty good also. If your after a good all terrain/mud/snow tire, look at my pics, those are interco swamplites, and they work great

I am running an 02 500 cat act with 26x10x12 's on the front and 26x12x12's on the back.
I found that I needed to add spacers on the back as in the winter when i am running 3lbs air the tires would tend to rub a bit on the springs. now I don't know if the position of the spring assembly is different if your are running a fully independent suspension.
At any rate I never regretted buying the 1.5inch spacers, it helps with alot more things than spring rubbing.
I am running gator's and let me tell you they are one tough tire, I am using them running rail beds and up into the rocks and mudd of the canadian shield, they seem to be standing up well.
