Thiking about an 06 500 auto
#1
I have a 03 300 and I was going to jump up to a 500 auto seeing how the price has gone down now that the 07's are at the dealers. I can get one for $5,999 USD. I have not seen too many problems posted on the 500's, so I am assuming it is a solid machine (just like all the cat's) Anythig I should know about b4 I go ahead and put a deposit on it? any issues that you have ran into.
Thanks for the help

They are as solid as can be. Only thing to check is some dealers will have a leftover H1 650 for only $300 more, so maybe you could go up a few cc's more

I have an 06 500 auto. There's about just over 1000 kms on it now. Hard kms. Not even a wimper, Awesome machine. A buddy of mine bought the same around the same time i did. He got it into his mind about the extra cc's as well, so he traded it for a new 650. I told him big mistake as we do alot of riding in the deep stuff (mud and water over the headlights at times). Wouldn't listen. Now when we go out, as soon as he hits a little bit of water it won't pull. Don't wanna **** off any 650 guy's here but those things absolutely suck in the water. Have to pull him out of the damn stuff every time. I warned him against buying because we know a few other guys with the same problem. Now he's cryin for his 500 back. I'm like any other guy, bigger motor, bigger smile. But not when i can't make it through where i need or want to go. 500's....................all the way.

my parents bought the 06 500 a day after i bought my 06 650 V2. they love it. no problems yet, been it water/swamp over the engine, towed, trail rode, rock climbed, whatever you can think of its been through it (except snow of course) and i havent heard a complaint yet. the carlisle badlands xtr is a better tire than the sh1tty goodyear they put on the V2 also. but i upgraded right away so dont bother me. but whatever, its a good as machine, buy one. or 2 if you can afford it.
