I need to replace the front outer boot on 1999 artic cat 400.Can anyone tell me what you have to do to change it.Need to know if i have to take the whole axle out.Thanks

 

maybe a little late but i just replaced mine today on the 700 and yes the axle comes off. mine was the rear outter. i was told that once apart the axle would just pull out like a car, but theres a clip in the inner boot so you have to take the inner boot apart as well. and remove the clip, and then it pops right out. about 45 min job. real easy stuff just what a mess of grease
