Grizzly to Cat ???

Yes it has, to say the very least. I originally bought it for hunting mostly, some small chores. Then, as I began using it up at our property I was continually amazed at what it could do. I've now done more work/chores with the 'Cat than I had ever even thought was possible, and it still never ceases to amaze me. Not sure how we got along without them.
As for the break issue, like the others said, it sounds like either a bad set of brakes on that particular machine, or maybe they just weren't burnished in right, like Lance was saying. Both our 'Cat's breaks are very good. In fact, even with my 27" 'Claws, I can pick the rear end off the ground at least a foot, if I have to stop in a hurry. -only reason I know that is I was looking at some deer off to the side, looked back forward and my Dad had stopped directly in front of me with no warning. Because of my helmet and goggles, I didn't have the usual peripheral vision, looked back just in time to see me almost run into him. I've ridden bucking horses in the past, and I must say by locking up the breaks, these 'Cats could very well be a contender for the next NFR! Heh heh Heh.
I'd have to agree with you, and the others on the manual bit. If you are pulling a harrow quite a bit, or mowers a lot, I think I'd prefer the gears too, just for insurance I guess. I don't doubt the auto could do it, but at $135 a belt, I think I still trust the gears a little more.
Do you raise food for deer plots? Possibly a management program, or just for fun, own personal hunting priveleges? I'd really like to start a couple food plots up at our place, see how the deer take to it.
Best of luck with the decision,
Mike
