Top Speed of Arctic Cat
#1
I've recently purchased an 05 Arctic Cat 400 4x4 Auto LE. Very pleased with it so far minus a bad CV joint. Whats the top speed of a 400 verses a 650, and also..I am thinking about getting another 250..whats the top speed on that one.

I don't know about the 250, so I won't even make a guess. Good luck.

Are you talking the new 250 with a solid rear axle (made by Kymco) or the older 250 with the IRS (AC built with the Suzuki motor)? The old ones will top out right around 45 mph. I wouldn't have a clue on the Kymco one, but their engine is slightly bigger and the bike is a bunch lighter. My 2005 400 IRS manual tranny tops out at 54 mph (GPS). Manuals are faster than the autos, go figure.

According to my speedometer my 650 v2 does 73-74 miles mph. I figured that this is incorrect but a buddy of mine bought the same v2 as me and his speedometer is showing the same thing. We both still have stock tires on our machines (if that makes a difference) but after looking at what others say I think something is wrong with our speed. I'm not trying to brag on speed just looking for an idea on what is wrong. Thanks for any replies.

You need to borrow a handheld GPS to check your speed.

with stock tires, a 650V2 will top out around 70mph. Right now i can hit 68 tops if the wind is behind me, and its not at all uphill. With my stock tires, a GPS read 72 on tar a couple times. The 650H1 is different, as it doest have as much top speed, but it has way more low end pulling
