Default YEE-HAW!!! NEW RIDE!!!

Hey Gang,

Haven't posted here in some time, but thought I'd share some good news! A couple of weeks ago, the wife dropped a bombshell on me after my daughter, (2006 A/C 250 Auto) and I, (2003 A/C 400 Auto), rode our quads all decorated in a Halloween Parade. Apparently, though she had near zero prior interest in our ATV activities, seemed to be harboring some deep feelings about us riding and having a good time all Summer. It seemed to come to a head after the Halloween parade when on the way home, my wife said and I quote: "Why don't we get another quad...You know, one of those RTV thingys".... I about had a heart attack....

In any case, I didn't let that sentiment ride too long and went out and got us a 2006 A/C 500 TRV. I had been thinking on the 2007 H1TRV, but for the price-point, the 500 fits the bill. I was also leery about no recoil starter on the new 2007's. This omission bewilders me. I ride alone about 75% of the time and in 1500-miles have had to use my recoil starter twice - both times I was all alone. The thought of pushing a 750-pound machine home, was one reason I passed on the 650 and got myself a 500. I pick it up tomorrow - I'm so excited!!! Congrats, she should get a hoot out of riding it.

My wife likes her TRV. My wife has actually went, on her own, and looked at the H1 TRV. She said she was thinking of up grading.

Price was an issue. Seems like you almost can't get a good wheeler for less that $6000 nowdays.

Yeah, here's what I was looking at with the 2007 650 H1: Winch, no bumpers, no brush guards - $7,900+ Tax (5%)
We paid cash and trade and are on a tight budget, (wife is in med school). It would have soaked up every nickel of our saved cash to get the H1 and bumpers would have been a long way off. More importantly is A/C having chosen to leave out the recoil starter. That costs $150+ and you need to cut/mod the side cover in order to mount it. I was looking forward to the extra grunt of the 650H1, but the 500 is a long lived, tested and trustworthy powerplant. Plus, we got the quad, deluxe front and rear bumpers and a 3,000 lb Warn for just a hair over 7k - that, minus the trade, left us with enough dough for accessories, or new tires, (want Maxxis BigHorns)...

AWSOME.... You both will enjoy the TRV 500. I bought one about 2-3 months ago for my wife (now she has 600+ miles on it). Who also had no desire to ATV. Then after getting my AC she wanted the polaris and needless to say that lasted only a month or so till she advised me she wanted a limegreen TRV and the 500 to boot. So bought that and boy did I get into trouble when I MADE her (her story) get it dirty the first time. But NOW she drags me out the door for mud riding (we do a little) but more importantly for me is the cross country boondocking we do. The last ride out we rode the mountain ridges for 46 miles round trip from the house, about 4 hours of riding with stops and sight seeing. Had a blast and ATVing is just 1 more thing we enjoy together.
