I currently have a 2002 Yamaha Grizzly 660. I am thinking of buying my friends 2004 AC 650 V2. In order to buy the V2, I'll have to sell my 660. I know the technical specifications differences in the 660 and the V2, but I don't know much other than the specs about the V2. Would it be worth selling my 660 for? Does anyone have any riding reviews they could share with me on these two machines in respect to differences? Again, I know how they compare on paper specs wise. Does one outperform the other in riding comparisons?

I like both machines, so it would be tough. The 650V2 will have a little more power throughout the powerband, as its a V-Twin. The Grizzly probably has a lower low range for pulling. The AC will have more ground clearance for rocky, or log covered terrain. It depends on what riding you do. I obviousley would pick the AC because i feel it has better features, and accessories

Although he is a good friend, he's not going to allow me to put his machine through some tech terrain. He doesn't have time to ride it now, so he's not going tp ride it with me either. It is a 2004 and has 24 miles!! I will ride it on technical trails and mud. In these conditions does one do better? Also, is there anything the 04 v2 is prone to trouble about? I've heard the 05 and 06 has some belt and tranny issues, and aren't snorkled as well as the 04 was. Can anyone verify??

To set it straight, the 2006 models have ZERO belt and tranny problems, as the gearing was changed to fix that. Also, the Arctic Cats, at least the new ones, are water tight. Ive been on my seat, and havnt had any water problems. If your going to go up to your handle bars, you better snorkel it

I wouldnt drive in high unless your going 35 mph or higher for a long period of time. Ive put mine in high probably 4 times total. In low, these V2s do more than 40 mph. If you take off in high, or do slower riding (under 40) in high all the time, you will burn out your belt.

Are they gear that high or something? I rarely use low with my grizzly's and sp500ho. I hardly ever use low with my grizzly, and only use low with my 500ho if I have to climb a hill or obstacle. The grizz only needs to be in low to pull a heavy load. You can easily turn all 4 tires in about anything with it. I can't imagine riding in low most of the time...Makes me lean towards keeping my 02 grizz now.....
