swamp lite info
#1
i currently have mudlite xl's on my 06 cat 400 auto and dont peticularly care for them when i hit the rocks the lugs flex too much to grip rocks especially wet ones they perform well otherwise in the mud and on hard pack they wear quick though.anyways i was looking into the swamplite they have more lugs and seem to be a bit better on rocks due to that. i get mixed reviews on the wear and capabilitys of these tires i personaly like them but dont want another tire thats wears like the mudlites.any help or info is greatly appreciated. also i was looking to go up to 26's will i lose alot of power if any from this i plan on keeping the stock rims but if i come across the right deal i might go lighter.but at the same time aluminum rims are way to nice and my stock rims look like a shark chewed them i hate to buy aluminum and destroy them because i will any recomendations on rims also very helpful thanks again

I have about 1000 miles on mine, with almost no wear. The Mudlites DO wear faster than the swamplites. I would reccomend these tires for ANY type of riding. Look at my pics to get a look at the tires

i like the rims v2 are they lighter than stock how do they hold up they look like an excellant alternative to aluminum. how well does the rim protector work? i dont know what its like in minnesota but here in ma. its very rocky and alot of stumps that always catch my rims partially due to how tight some of the trails get in nh and maine. there arent much for trails in mass.not worth riding anyways.

I LOVE rough rocky terrain! Thats a reason i use these tires and rims. The rims are delta series steel rims. They are 30% stronger than stock steel rims. Im not sure if you can get them chromed like mine still or not. I had a hard time finding them, and only one place could get them for me. www.traxmotorsports.com You would have to call and ask in person, and they may have a set sitting around. Otherwise, i would reccomend getting Delta Series Steel rims in black or silver, whichever you prefer. I would have gotten black if i couldnt get chromed ones. These rims and tires have taken a heck of a beating, and i have not had any problems, or complaints. After sitting for a while and not riding, if you ride on tar right away, you will notice a "wobbel". Thats normal, and it goes away quickly after rounding themselves out again. But if you hit a trail right away, you dont notice a thing. Its only on tar, and who wants to ride tar anyway??

i hate riding tar but were i ride is in the mountains of maine and there are alot of trails that connect by a mile or so of paved roads but i avoid it if possible im going to look into the wheels like your i didnt want aluminum do you know the weight of them?? i have a 400 and im want to step up to 26's and a lighter wheel would help keep my performance were it is now. im sure you werent worried about it with a v2. but unfortunately i need to for now till i can afford a cdi. oh and is that a kong on your winch lol how well does it work out thanks v2

i just put a set of 27' swamp lites on my 500 3 weeks ago. i had 589's which did well in the mud and rock, put 2700 miles ont hem and there is still 3 quarters tread left on them. but i wanted something a bit smoother yet agressive and id have to say im very pleased with them. not many miles on them yet but i have hit the mud holes and they did just as good as the 589's. hope they last as long!!
also, the 27' swamplites are actually bigger than the 27' itp 589's. the 2 companies measure there tires differently.

Swamplites are great tires. However if you want soemthing that won't wear as fast check out the Mudlite XTR's or even better is the Outlaw MST's. Those are the ones I am going to try and get when I can find the extra coinage.
