Not to sound like an AS& here but I have recieved responses from Bear before and they are generally without merit. I know that a couple companies produce cams and some are cut for more low end and some more top end but and mild increase in lift and duration can help both low, mid and top end HP. The v2 has so much low end I have never wanted for more but the mid and top seems to be a little insuficient. . Compaired to my old Prairie 650 or my buddies BF 750, or even a Polarbus 700 the top end is real shy on my AC. I can do 51 in low and only 53 in high

A higher performance cam alters the duration of intake and exhaust valves to maximize performance within a certain power band. Since the valve timing is controlled by the cam, and it is set to a fixed duration, the timing can only be optimized within a certain range of engine rpm's. A good low-range cam has optimal detonation when the piston is moving slower, but as the engine accelerates, optimal detonation may occur later in the stroke, when the piston is not in as optimal of a postion to transfer the power. Remember that the process of detonation takes the same amount of time no matter what....getting the engine to better capture the power of the detonation within a certain range is the purpose of a different cam. This is why Variable Cam Timing is such a big deal in some of the new cars. They really do make a difference in the entire powerband. To the best of my knowledge, none of the ATVs on the market have variable cam timing. Hope this explanation helps.

OK BEAR go ride you 400 at 20MPH, as you have said before no one needs to go 50 on a utility ATV, you little girl you!
You have no idea of mods becuase you are so lame you don't want to go faster.
The only one I hear whining is you.
Why don't you go on the PepBoys ATV forum as I think they are more your speed.

Changing cams in an 05 650V2
I just got my 06 650 v2 up to 65 on pavement over the weekend. I have been listening to v2 rider and staying under 40 in low. I was at my dealer today and he said I could go as fast as I want in low gear. He didn't tell me how fast it would go in low but I will use the 40 and under rule.
