03' 500 idle problem

Default 03' 500 idle problem

I find it hare to believe the engine would even run at all with a jet half the size in there. Are you real sure of the number as the are really hard to read.

I will double check today, these 50 year old eyes are not as good as they once were. I don't have any wire gauges that small to check it.
Maybe a quick run to the AC shop to clairify.

Can't believe they didn't put a filter inline. A sure way for the service department to make money.

Default 03' 500 idle problem

AC dealer says the 40 is the right size for the slow jet. Cleaned all the jets and it running like new.
I removed the shut off valve from the tank and found there are screens on both internal tubes. Just to be safe, I put an inline filter on the gas line.


So there you have it.
