Fast idle
#1
Have an 06 650 H1 and today out on the lake and she would start to idle up to 3000 rpm when warm. This was not a consistant happening, sometimes she would idle at her normal 1400 then take off. Any ideas?
thanks in advance.

You may have also gotten some moisture in down into the throttle cable and when outside where it is colder (assuming yo have it garaged) the cable sticks as Bear suggested.
It could also be from a fuel restriction from ice crystals in the fuel line. It can lean it out and increase the engine rpms.

Thanks guys, but what confuses me is when it is a cold start it is fine, but once it warms up it wants to ramp up to the point you have to shut it off to shift and start it in the gear you are going to use. Ill put some deicer and see if that helps Swamp. Got to tinker with the linkage today anyway falling out of high range.

this sounds like the same problem I posted on - January 2nd
I also have been running sea foam through my 06 H1.
Sometimes it just will not idle down and you can not get it into gear... I know that answer is to take it to the dealer - I just hate screwing around with intermittant issues - it gets there and does not happen so ......
Is there something you can do to get them to start in gear?
Any other H1 owners had this issue?

Start in gear, sure. Put it in gear and hold the brake on (either hand or foot should work). It should crank right up.

Hey buying ATV. My rig did not do this until I put Sea Foam in the tank, wonder if there is something to this. Maybe to much Sea Foam screwing up some kind of sensor. Talked to a Tech today at dealer and he said it is common for this to happen after the first hundred miles and to back down the idle. But i have @ 700 on her now and it started doing it. But she idles fine until I get her warmed up.

Idle speed is always set with engine warmed up. The choke (enrichener actually) controls engine speed while warming up.
