What do you mean if you go in water over the radiator it will die? The radiator isn't that high on my 650. Maybe 2 ft off the ground. Shouldn't I be able to go in water that is up in the wheel wells?

Thanx Jeff for starting the thread and getting some info for me.
Is this belt issue a big problem or is it a result of lack of maintainance?
My new (used) machine has 550 miles on it, and I imagine there is
recommended stuff that needs to be done in the first 500 miles, or no?
I guess I will find out Sunday when I pick it up and look at the books that
come with it.
Thanx everyone for the info,
Coop

On the 05-07's look inside the grill (between the headlights) you will see the radiator, the the air intake and belt cooling intake is right there. The first deep water I went into it stalled, nothing went into the airbox, but it stalled.
I installed hidden snorkels up by the handlebars. Lokk at mine or V2Riders profile pics and you will see what we did.

I agree with sammy dogs, the air intake is in a poor spot for deep water. On the other hand, i just did my snorkel job, and in 1100 miles, ive never stalled or taken water in my airbox. Ive been in some nasty deep water to. And ive covered my wheel wells as well. Some people have had the fan blow fuses when the radiator gets into water, but i havnt had that problem yet either. Just ride it and enjoy it. Its an awesome machine, and i dont regret the purchase for a second

I have to agree that the V2 is great. If i get the urge to make mine swim I'll buy a boat.

I'm guessing those hidden snorkels are home made. What did you use to make them. It looks like a simple radiator hose. Was it hard to do?

Easy to do. And yes it was a radiator hose.
