Great machines. No real gatchas with exception of a few quirks. On the 05 the gearing was 3.6 as oppossed to 4.0 to one so its geared too tall, that along with the V2(kawasaki) motor needs to have some attention in the belt area. Black secondary and I used a bright green primary spring really wakes up the wheelie factor. Watch out turning the wheel too much when in 4x4 and difflock, as I broke a CV in a swamp by cutting the wheel all the way trying to back off a underwater stump. I really do not need to engage difflock veryy much as traction is great, but if you do dont cut the wheel to one side too much.

Also, keep tabs on the belt deflection. Keep it tight, around 22 mm.

if he puts a dynatek cdi in it, it should have more power then your 700 polaris. other then the belt area needing some attention i have had nothing but superb luck with mine. if it comes with stock tires tell him to put a good set of 6-ply's on it for the stock ones are soft and give terrible body roll. and i put the pink primary and black secondary springs in mine and i can do some sick wheelies with it.

You both will have very comparable quads in speed and handling (both heavy) I agree with everything weez said as I have a Dynatec and it makes a good difference. One other thing, for deep water crossing he is going to have to snorkel it as the air intake is in front on top of the radiator, if he goes through water over the radiator it will die, and he will have to live with getting pulled out by a Polaris.

Ok, I have heard of different clutch springs mentioned on this site. Black on the secondary and green on the primary or pink on the primary????

How hard is it to change these springs??? Special tools required? Change the weights as well??

Thanks in advance.

thanx to everyone so far my buddy will soon have his own access on here. Are the axles and front diffs up to "good power and good tires" ? My 700Polaris seems to make popsicle stix out of the front end stuff and other buddy with 700 Grizzz hasnt gotten " postal" yet with his..

As far as the axles go, the only problem I have ever had was in difflock with the wheel cut to full stop I broke a CV. I do some pretty tough mudding and mine have been fine other than that. In difflock go straight. V2rider- great minds think alike!
