Default cat 500 2006 idle problem?

Is there anaboy who has a problem with the idle with the 500 cat 2006? cause mine, when its hot suddenly when i stop... like on neutral, he can't keep the idle without me giving gas. I went at the dealer 4 times , and they chek the carburator, timing bla bla , find nothing wrong .. there must be some other cat that do so .. i hope that the companie can do something?...

If it is only when its hot then I think it is the idle mixture screw is to rich. Locate the idle screw and turn it in about a 1/4 turn and see what happens.

most of the time when people have weird problems with their atv's running it is cause they got dirt in the carb. simple fix and set the needles back to speck settings.

Did you or the dealer check the valve clearances? sometimes if your valves are out of adjustment it can cause hard starting, and poor idle.

yes,..nothin but problems with my 06 500 le. they have tried a few new auto chokes, didnt work. idles at rev limiter when it wants, other times will not idle at all,.while driving down trails it back fires some times. been in shop for this problem several times,..several months. the dealer has no anwsers,..and try to get in touch with the factory,..they will not return a call. yes still under warrenty,..for another year. once in a while it will idle ok, but not often. some times just goin down the trail it will run fine, then for no reason at all it will load up,.. it smokes real bad of course followed by a back fire. just got it back yesterday from dealer, still runs like crap. they have had it for another month straight, because the transmission seal let go and threw oil on my belt and left me stranded, again, yes this has happened before. my wife bougfht this for me for hunting,..and now she is afraid to let me go out alone because it has never gotten me home. the dealer wont take it back on trade. I have had nothing but problems with it, in the year i have had it, it has been in the shop more than at my home,..not cool. the idle problems seem to be gettin more common, especially on the 06 500's. riding in alaska is fun, but you need to have the confidence to know that you are gonna get home every night, weater is a huge factor it can be 20 above one hour, and fall to -50 in just a few hours, you dont want to break down in that stuff.

I am sure you have tried the common things such as spark plug, carb clean and adjusted.

I don't think it is a vavle thing unless one is sticking once in a while. And I don't think it is timing or that would be off all the time.

I would check into the voltage regulator and coils. Your coils could be breaking down. At some point they would be fine and once they got hot they may start to break down. Also if you have a faulty voltage regulator it would mess things up pretty bad. I would also borrow, buy or steal a new battery and put it in. I had a battery that would hold a charge, start the machine etc but it was bad and the engine would break down at top speed and have irratic idle. Once I ended up replacing coils, regulators etc with no avail I finally just put a new battery in and walla it cured everything.

My $0.02 worth I would borrow a battery from a friend and start there. I would also put some Marvel Mystery Oil or Seafoam in my gas. That would free up a sticking valve and help lubricate the top end of your engine, break up any carbon build up and a host of other bennifits.... It won't hurt. I put Marvel Mystery Oil in my gas every time I put gas in, 4wheeler, lawnmower, snowblower, outboard, car, truck - everything.
You can try some dry-gas and fuel-injector cleaner too. Some of this stuff you may not need to do but it won't hurt a thing if you do, do them. And it is not very expensive.
