Just bought the new 4-wheel ATVACTION mag, and it has a positive review on the AC 300 4x4. It also has the stats ( buyer's guide ) on all the quads which is interesting. In regards to the AC 500 it states that it is sadly underpowered page 37?? HMMM! must be a clearical error? Cats rule, wanted to voice my oppinion!! Happy Holidays!!

Man, I don't know where in the hell these guys come up with this stuff. They have to be associating power to speed, and thus equating that since the 'Cats are not the fastest, they lack power. What a crock! There is a rather lengthy discussion on this on one of the other pages here, recently. Speed, I'll agree, they're not the fastest by any means. The Grizz or SP500 is easily faster. However, does it lack in power? AH, HELL NO! Man, get these mag. editors to do a full "work" section and then see how much supposed power it is lacking in. Better yet, send them out my way, I'll show them a thing or two about how my 'Cat lacks power. So much so that while it will only pull full sized suburbans, drag enourmous logs, winch out completely buried full sized rigs (with help of ****** block of course), including a sub. with trailer attached, I'm very dissapointed in that I haven't been able to free a stuck sherman tank yet. (though I haven't found a stuck sherman tank yet, I'd still give it a shot!) As a result, I'm affraid they might be right, it probably is lacking in power. HEH, RIGHT, give me a break.

If you can't tell, I'm rather thrilled with my 'Cat and its abilities, both working and pleasure. How about the rest of you guys???

Mike

I seen this too. Magazines are natorious, for giving unfair reviews or subjective reviews by wich company sticks the most money in advertising. But i totally have to agree with cowboy.

all those atv mags are biased toward companies like honda, polaris, yamaha, or whatever is on the popular bandwagon. its just like jim scouten on car and driver tv on tnn. he has a chevy/gmc bias and never misses his chance to knock a ford product.

Well I don't dought the 400 being FASTER than the 500, thats cause it has a MUCH shorter stroke. The shorter stroke makes it build revs alot faster and rev higher peroid. As far pulling power, 400 can't hang with the 500.

Buzzsaw,
What does "the guy" have??

Two weeks ago I posted here as to what happened during an ATV rodeo that the local club held. My AC 500 auto was equal in pulling power to the Polaris SP in 4WD, but I out did him in in 2WD, I also outpulled a 500 Quadrunner, a Grizzly and the Rubicon didn't even want to try it. As far as speed goes, I'll admit I came in last, but where I ride all speed will do is get you hurt.Power and speed aren't in any way related....my 2 cents worth.
