i can't believe I forgot to tell you...

This weekend when we were riding, we had that 700 Diesel out there and we had 21 (I think) wheelers out playing. Anywho, we farted around all day, watched a 600 Polaris go scuba diving (probably 80% underwater, only the left rear quarter was visible), and when it was all done some of the other guys where out popping wheelies. >=)
A couple Grizzlies started it, the were working it pretty hard to get them to stand. The had their feet on the back rack and were pullin on the front pretty hard. One of the Polaris's went out and that was laughable, wheelies are seriously not their strong area. The Bomb 800 decided to go out and show them how it was done. He did some fairly respectable power wheelies, but he too was jerkin pretty hard on it to get it to come up. At this point all his efforts to get the wheeler up to its balance point were in vain. I couldn't believe it.
Naturally I just HAD to go show them how to loft the front end. I started with a couple big wheelies after coming out of a ditch, or going over some big bumps. I moved up to the road and popped a couple big wheelies from dead stop there. Not once did I give the machine ANY english, pure power wheelies easily lifting to the balance point and beyond.
The other machines were still on the sidelines at this point. I decided it was time to pull some 10mph rolling wheelies. I putted along at 10, let off the throttle and slammed it back down. Without shifting my weight or yanking on the bars, the front end slowly lifted up to the balance point and I rode until I was headed into the ditch. After the first rolling wheelie the Bomb came back up on the road and actually pulled up right next to me, as if to challenge me.
It not only wasn't much of a challenge, it was no challenge. I easily lofted huge wheelies time and time again. I would pop one, let it drop and immediately pull it back up. The Bomb was furiously pulling on the bars and slamming the throttle. I loved it. He did finally get it up to balance a couple times, but he was totally outclassed in the wheelie department. The last wheelie I did was about a 5 mph roll that I lifted all the way to the back rack and let it slide a few feet. I dropped it back down and headed back to park, trying very hard to hide the gi-normous grin I was sporting on the inside.
That bomb may kick my *** in a drag, but the wheelies where all about the Arctic Cat's on Sunday. Booya!
Viva la V2!! (with mods) =D

must not have been an 800 bomb, i KNOW they can pull wheelies- if the driver couldnt get it up- he must be extremely weak
It's crazy how much power the 800's have, i saw a guy doing a backwards wheelie in 4x4 in reverse

Well, I watched him dump the throttle from a dead stop and the wheels didn't reach the balance point. It held a power wheelie for a while, but as soon as the acceleration slowed a little the wheelie was lost. I'm not saying my 650 has more power, I have driven the 800 and I know it is a monster. What it didn't do when I drove it was pop wheelies easily. Sure it lifted the front end when you canned it, but not to the point of flipping over(yes, my 650 will easily sit you on the back rack straight up and down with zero body english). What I am saying is that by all accounts on that particular day, my 650 pulled wheelies up and down that bomb. I wasn't pulling on the bars at all, I never have too from from 0-7mph or so. I can pull wheelies from a rolling 12mph with a little body english, not much.
p.s. Grizzlies don't pop wheelies at all unless your dumping weight on the back rack, so using a grizz as comparison doesn't say much.
