Here is deal with my 2001 AC 300 4x4,when I first got it the brakes worked great.

The second set of pads worked just as good,if not a little better,both would lock all wheels and almost throw you over.

Now,the third set is a set car pads milled to fit,they slow the machine,not outrite stop like it use to.
What brand would be a good set of pads for it?

Also,I constantly have to put brake fluid in it.I dont see it leaking anywhere though.
I might drain it all out and put new fluid in it.It may have air in the lines.

 

If you have to keep putting in brake fluid then you must be leaking it someplace.

Question - why car pads, why not just use OEM or aftermarket ATV pads?

Well,at the time I didnt want to spend $100 on pads.
Found some at work and widdled them to fit while the gundrill was drillin a hole.So,I really got paid to make them.

As for the brand which is a good one?

RockyMountainATV has some EBCs for $23.Are those good?

And why laugh at that idea,its not stupid,I was tring to $$$.
I also made my winch mount plate,is that stupid too?It works.

 

for $23.00 for a pair of brake pads for a 4 wheeler? I couldnt answer that question until I buy or need them, but look at it this way,$ 25.00 for a pair of automobile pads, plus the time to shave them down to work, theres more than $23.00 right there.To me time is money, thats why I dont understand why people do what they do. To me my time is expensive [plumber lol],and the more free time the better, so not to make you mad,that was not the idea. Are you chewing the pads up quickly? if so check brake disks, maybe there bad which is chewing up the brake pads

 

I don't know about EBC's or others, I have not had to replace my brakes yet. (When I do, I am going to save some money and steal them off of Booboobears ATV), 3 sets so far! Sounds a little excessive to me... Maybe you have something else wrong. Do you drive like my Aunt and ride the brake all the time?, Not being funny just curious, maybe your brakes are dragging all the time for some reason.

3 sets,the oem i think were junk.
At the time when I rode alot,I used them all the time,had to on the hills.I use to stay in the mud so that didnt help.
They do wear unever,but not much.
First thing Ill change fluid to see if that helps,if not I'll order some pads.

Its not a waiste of time if you enjoy doin it.And I enjoy doin stuff like that.
But I'll pay some $200 to change the brakes on my cars,go figure
