Default Any over heating problems with the 400's?

I have a 07 400 has anyone experienced any over heating problems with their 400? When it gets real hot how do the 400's hold up? I'm just curious of what to expect.--Thanks--MIke

No overheating so far - fan may run a few times a year for about a minute or so, when working it hard. When I hear my fan run I generally stop for a water/soda/cigarette break and let it idle until the fan goes off, or if I hit an open space I will bring it up to 30-35 mph and let the air get to it. I don't ever remember the fan running for much more than a minute or so at any given time. I have had it come on in the heat of the summer as well as in the winter when the temp is close to 0 degrees. I think it has more to do with how hard it is working as apposed to the outside temp.

That has been my experience and observations.

I have a '06 400 L.E. and the fan kicks on every time I ride. I do ride it hard though. I ride on the banks of a couple rivers in my area that are very nasty. The trails are always changing, constantly forcing you to break new trail because the old one has been covered by 6 foot of fresh mud or sand. I takes 35 inch tires and two lockers for any truck to pass. I usually stop and let it cool down about every 30 min. I took a trip to black mountain in Harlan Kentucky last month. From my camp at 1200 ft elevation I had to ride to 3200 ft on very steep switch backs to hit the start of the trails. There are a few 10 - 15 minute hill climbs, I let it cool at the top of all the big hills. I've also buried it in the nastiest mud past the tires a few times. Had to winch about 1 hundred feet once. Still I've never overheated. Kept my legs warm on a few cold rides though.

I've never had problems with either my 03 or 04 400's. The fan only ever turns on if i'm working the bike hard pulling wood or something.
