Default 2007 400 auto? Who has one?

I am looking at the 400 auto and see that it has new or a different ring gear than the 2006 and older atvs.
The 2007 400 auto has 40 teeth ring gear and so does the TRV but the 400 manul still has the 36.

How does the new 400s ride and can you tell if there is a difference or not? I will probably buy one this weekend for $4999.00 + tax.

Any problems or comments would be appreciated! Thanks!!

I think that you will find that most 400 owners pretty much leave the engine fairly close to stock. They decorate it with other toys - winches, storage boxes, etc etc.

Some personal advice - I would not go with tires much bigger than 26" and I think you will find most 400 owners agree with that. I run 25" because the extra 1/2" of clearance was not worth the extra money for 26" tires. And also, for that little gain the extra strain on components to me was also not worth it. I have fairly agressive tires in 25" and no need to go bigger.

Read the (recent) post for breaking in the 400 and you will also see it come to life between 300 and 500 miles on it. It is not a 500 or a 650 but it is a very capable machine that will give you many, many miles of smiles. And when the going gets tough, you probably will be second only to another AC. It won't do wheelies (unless the bump is big enough, or climbing a hill) and it won't go 60mph. However, I have had mine up to 80mph - (so what if it was on my trailer) - lol...

Happy trails to you and enjoy, you made a good choice....
