Default Axle Seal

I noticed oil under my atv after my last ride. I tracked it down to the front gearcase, left side. It appears to be leaking from where the axle goes in. I'm guessing that I blew a seal in there. There is no damage to the cv guard. I have less than 300 miles. What could have happened? Is it hard to replace? Is this common? I figured that it would probably be covered under warranty, but the parts will be less than the $50 dollar deductible. So, if it's not too difficult, I'll do it myself. I just need to know what to do. Thanks.

You will need:
1) banding tool - about $10.00 on ebay. (or borrow one from a mechanic)
2) at least two bands about $2.00 each from the automotive store.
3) some axle grease

You take the axle out:
Take the tire off
Disconnect the tie-rod
Disconnect the shock
Disconnect the A-arms
Remove your brake housing
Remove the big nut holding the axle in the housing (there is a cotter pin there also)
Slide the housing off the axle.
(Outside is done)
Remove the bands on the inner boot and slide the boot back down the axle
Remove the big 'C' clip holing the CV in the housing (a lot of grease here)
(axle is out at this point)
Clean out the housing on the differential
This is the access to the seal
You may or may not need a seal removal tool.
(Before you do all the above - jack the front off the ground makes the above steps easier - lol)...

Thanks. Do you have to buy the seals from an AC dealer?
