Default AC Wheel Bearing problems

Hi just trying to see if there are any other AC owners out there who have this many problems with their wheel bearings? This bike belongs to a friend of mine it's a 2003 AC 400 4x4 (independent rear) The bike has only 1100 miles on it and he has replaced the front bearings 3 times and the rears twice. Am i wrong or does that seem a little much?!?!? Reason i'm asking is i'm considering buying a two seater Cat but if i'm going to be having problems like that i'd rather buy another brand!

I have to replace mine twice and one front three times I do alot of water (up to the seat sometimes)and mud and then I pressure wash it, that hard on bearing. I found that if I pop the black seal on the bearing and pack it with good grease then replace the seal before I install the bearings that they will last longer .I have 2600+ miles on mine.

Yes it is excessive. As Bobmack mentioned water and pressure hoses can raise the dickens with them. I repack mine each year (with new seals) but never had to replace one. I have an 03 with over 3,000 miles on it.

I have almost 9000 miles and have the original bearings. I would lean toward excessive unless you ride it submerged in water a whole bunch AND have sized tires. This combination put a lot of stress on the drive train, especially the bearings.

I will add that I have one wheel on my 400 that is a little loose and I will probably put new bearings in this winter but I will have nearly 10k miles by then.
