Default Starter Relay Connections

Hi,

Could you guys please do a visual check for me. IF you have a 2003 AC 400 or similar models that use a starter relay (instead of a solenoid), could you please check which of the big connectors goes to the battery and which one goes to the starter? I am replacing mine and apparently, the previous owner had used an after market relay, so I have never seen how the original was connected.

I have attached a top view of the relay:

Starter Relay

Thanks.

Default Starter Relay Connections

Liteshow,

The picture you show looks exactly like the one on my 2003 400 and 500TRV. On both models a red cable from the battery connects to the left hand post (looking at your picture) and another cable connects from the right side tot he starter. A plug connects to the top where the 4 spade connectors are.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Bastosako and Swampyjunior for confirming that and clearing up the confusion!

The reason why I was confused was because I checked online by clicking "EZ Search Parts Lookup" at www.arcticcat.com and under the "Wiring Harness Assembly" for my model year, it stated the exact opposite (left is starter and right is battery)!! So obviously there is an error with the online parts catalog.

So I got it now. It's B for battery and M for Motor - the marks on the relay. That also means left post to battery and right post to starter motor.
