Default Rear Axel Boot question need help

The rubber boot on a 2003 400 ACT that comes out fron the engine that connects to the rear driveshaft... it hads ripped and there is now grease spread around the area. Is tere any way that that may have let water into anything like the engine crankcase? Also is that a warantee part if i have an extended warentee? If anyone hads had is done how much will it cost to be repaired? its part #3435-067
