AC250 carb Problems
Hey guys,
I have an 03 250 that was having idling problems. It would idle way up then come down and then idle way up again. I took the carb apart and cleaned all the jets and now when I can get it to start it wants to backfire and will not rev up. I have checked the gas and valve tappet adjustment. The intake was a touch off everything else looks OK.
Any help will be appreciated.....

I have a 02 250 4x4 and had idling problems such as you describe, just ran a can of SEA FOAM through a tank of gas and now it runs great. Now that you have taken the card apart and cleaned it I would do it again as you might have a small piece of varnish or trash still in it.

AC250 carb Problems
Thanks for the help papa. I will put some seafoam through her when I get her running. Here is a little more I have learned.
I got it started this morning I have the back side of the carb open. Once I got it started I was able to get it to run good if i raised up on the vacum piston in the
throat of the carb. I could raise it all the way up and it would lean out so much it would backfire or I could raise it just a little and it would smoke from running too rich. Somewhere in the middle seemed to be good. This was with maybe 1/4 throttle. If I let go of the vacum piston would go all the way down and the engine would die.
I have checket the diaphram on the vacum piston and can not find any kind of hole or tear. Why would it not raise up with the increased throttle? I have also checked the choke and it moves freeley in and out? I am stummped Please Help......
