i was riding my atv the other day and its a 07 400 manual i was in 4th gear and the atv jerked and went in to 5th gear with out me changing gears i tried to see if it does it in any other gear but it dont only 4th gear does anyone know what would couse this?

Phat cat,

Since you machine is a manual shift I am going to assume it has the rocker shifter? If this is the case you you accidently bump the lever it can jump into a higher or lower gear. I used to do this until I became used to keeping my big feet out of the way. I mostly did this when going up steep hills and leaning over the handlebars.

Either that or your clutch may need some adjusting. That is all I can think of to help you out.
