Default Recent ride left me worn out and dissapointed with my 04 AC V2.

After going on a couple of small rides our group decided to go on a much longer more challenging ride. After switching bikes with a couple of my buddies, I soon realized how unbelievably rough my Cat is on rocky trails. Their Kodiak 450 and Grizzly 600 were way more comfortable and were effortless to handle. One buddy said it was like "driving a log wagon". I definitely see what others have said about that "tippy feeling" also, especially going up very steep rocky mountain trails. I love the power and in an open field, nobody in our group will catch me as well as in the mud, but when the trail turns rocky, I have to really hang on. I am immediately looking for a Grizzly, just wish they made a Vtwin.

you new to cat atv's? that tippy feeling goes away once you learn how to handle the machine. i went through it and hated it but now i dont feel it at all. also you can adjust your shocks up and down to stiffen and soften the suspension. im very surprised you find the cat to be a rough ride. also does your v2 have stock tires? that can also make the ride less than pleasing. if your into rockcrawling or mudding you will be very dissapointed with anything smaller. yes its more nimble but thats because its lighter.try the new style handle bars they also will reposition you and help make you feel more comfortable

i agree if you have the stock tires throw them away. i got 27 inch 6 ply's and i would never go back to stock. as a matter of fact i have less then 100 miles on my original tires and rims. after going with these tires my cat shines in rough and rocky terrain compared to the others.

I did adjust the shocks a couple of different times but it was still too stiff. I am running the stock tires however. Didn't know they would make that much of a difference. I'll give that a shot.

I had the 04 V-2 and the stock tires killed the handling. I also had an 05 V-2 and I put 26" Dirt Devils on and it was like a new machine. I put 3500 miles on those tires before I sold it and bought an 07 700 and then I put 27" DD's on. There are better tires out on the market other than DD's if you want to spend a little more. I ride 90% rough and rocky trails and the best all-around tire that I've heard of or tried on other quads is the Maxxis Big Horn, but they more expensive.
