Default new 366cc utility??

the actual difference in displacement between the '400' and the 366 is about ten cc's. Not much of a difference at all. Claimed weight is 100 pounds less on the 366 but there's some debate about the actual weights. I haven't weighed one myself to be able to side either way.

I have a pic somewhere of the two side by side and the 366 looks much smaller, but that may be the effect of plastics and smaller tires. Still, it's seat is lower by inches while suspension travel isn't greatly different.

My wife sat on both and has ridden my 700, and she says the 366 just 'fits' well and the seat agrees with her posterior.

With the full range of features, including the 2 inch receiver, the 366 seems like a really nice quad to me. It's the one I intend to buy for the wife when I can afford it. I also have seen at arcticchat where people drop in front lockers quite easily in them to give them every feature I get on my 700!!!

I see no reason not to get one. I look at it like this, the 366 is at the top of the line for the mid-sized quads, where the 400 is really the bottom of the line for the full sized machines. If a 400, why not the 500???? It's not much more and it's more than a measly 10 cc's difference from the 366 and the mid-size frame.

I specifically bought the 366 for utility and am perfectly happy with it. But it's really going to depend on what your utility needs are. I have a trailer that I pull down some narrow trails through the woods. The 400 wouldn't make it unless I chopped down some trees. Now if you're on a farm and in the open area, the 400 could very well be worth it. It's much larger and got a bigger rack.

If you choose the 400, so be it. But don't pick it because of the comments in this thread that it's a 'superior machine'. It may be in certain scenarios. But it's not hands-down the 100% best choice.

I find that a very interesting comment about the cutting down of trees to be the most false statement I have ever heard so far. I have both a 366 and a 400 and there is no tight trail that my 366 could go on that my 400 could not, someone really needs to check out the true difference in dimensions before they can make statements like that. In actual truth my 400 has as good if not better turning radius then my 366. What I mean is that come on people lets make true statements before we put them out there for someone to read that needs us to be truthful so thay can make a better decission on what they might buy. I know we all love our machines and are happy with what we have but just put true statements out there for the people that need them. Both machines are good just go with what machine speaks to you because you cant go wrong with either.

I am not (BLEEP)ing kidding you. The trails were originally cut as foot paths, not for ATV riding. We're not talking about trails where you can drive a small truck down for a Sunday picnic with fried chicken. We're talking about trails no more than a few feet wide meant for folks walking single file. There are several spots the 366 makes it through with a tad of room to spare. This may not be an issue for everyone. But there is a big size difference between the two machines.

Have you seen the two side-by-side?

Everyday!! I own both and if you check your manual you would see the true demensions of your 366 not the claimed one in the buyers catolog. Your eyes are fooling you on your 366 because the seat is lower and it just looks so much different then the normal AC your used to seeing, but the real facts are on paper and there isn't the real difference you claim specially on overall wheellbase the 400 has 50 inch and 366 has 47.9 a difference of basically 2 inches that means 1 inch on each side those are some really tight trails, ones I would widen just for the sake of them being that narrow, doesn't sound like a very nice trail. What I'm trying to say, is dont try talking someone into buy what you believe is the better machine, and might possilbly be, for some people because you have way to narrow of trails. If the difference of the 2 machines was 10 inches or even 6, I could see you claim but since that is not the case I think your stretching things a tad bit, but have fun the 366 is a fine machine, one you should be happy to have as I am.

You're probably right then. I didn't measure the 400. When I squeeze by those spots, I just flashback to when I was on the 400. It seemed way wider to me.
