If one would happen to get into the same situation with water again (submerse the bike, especially on a trail) what are some of the things you want to do in the field as soon as you get your bike out of the drink? Pull plug? Drain water from air box? Etc....

 

yep, if the bike dies in the water, DO NOT TRY STARTING IT! this may result in a bent rod or broken rings ,ect... pull plug like you said, then pull start it a few times to blow the water out, drain the air box and the exhaust will probably have water in it also so i normally lift the front end(winch it) untill all the water draines out. drain the carb till gas flows out. then i put back together and see if the water got in the oil. by cranking the engine over ,you should be able to see in the little window deal on the side of the motor the oil and if turns white, go change it. ive swamped mine a couple of times where the bike stopped running but never actually got water in the oil. also sometimes if the bike wouldnt start id set it up on its *** end and try starting it, once it gets started set it back down and it may run like crap for a bit but it will clean up. all this was done with experiance,several times.
