Am looking at replacing my stock tires with aftermarkets - namely either Mudlites or Mudlite XTRs. Am going to run on my stock rims for the time being out of necessity ($$$). So, what size aftermarkets are you running on your comparable AC and how are they working for you?

Stocks are 25x8-12 and 25x11-12. I'm looking at upsizing a bit but don't want to have to cut or mod to make it work. Am thinking just up to a 26" should be okay but am not sure about width. 26x9-12 and 26x12-12 okay without modding or cutting? Any dangers of rubbing, etc...? Or, should I just stick with an 1" higher and the stock width - 26x8-12 and 26x11-12?

Am buying the tires online so don't want any surprises after the fact.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey cf,

I'm running 29.5 swamplites. They are a very good all around tire at a very resonable price. There was some pwer loss, but was easily recovered w/ a clutch kit. Going 1 inch wider wouldn't hurt you any. Good luck w/ what ever you choose!

I currently run 26 inch mudlites on my TRV and 25 inch mudlites on my 400. I put the 25 inch mudlites on because I got a smoking deal on them. The height difference between my 26 and my 25 inch tires is about 1/2 inch when measured. I have had 26 inch mudlites on my 400 prior and had to make to modifications. I mounted them to my steel rims and ran them to death.

I really like the Mudlite tires. I can now go through stuff in 2wd that I would have to use 4wd with my old stock tires. Since I have had the 26 and the 25 inch mudlites on my 400 I can tell you that when these wear out I will replace them with 25inch tires as well.

Some people I know go with a 1 inch wider tire as well to get more floatation but that is because they ride swamps and such. I can go where they do with my 25 inch tires just as easy so to each his own. Like you, it was the $ that led me to the 25 inch tires.

Hope this helps
