While riding saturday my front tire hooked a forked deadfull on the trail and pulled me into a small obstruction causing the bike to kick hard to the left while the laws of physics propelled me in the original direction. Yes, it hurt but there was no permanant damage to the machine or me. Since I bought this ATV I have always wondered about why the steering is so loose compared to my polaris. Has anyone out there had similar experiences and have any idea what I should be looking for when I start digging into the front end? Any help would be greatly appreciated as we have determined that I don't fly very well. Thanks

 

I have an 03 500 I am having truble with steering to. the one I have has been road walking. I have replaced all of the steering. And titend up the shocks. This has helped some. but I am still having truble. the one thing that helped the most. Was the steering baring at the bottom of the shaft. I am getting ready to try new tires. Let me now if you find out anything

Thanks everyone. I will check out the article as well as check the steering bearing. I looked at everything in the steering linkage but not having any experience at all I really didn't know what I was looking at.
