The reason Cat when with the smaller 489 Titans for 2000 is the very complaint you have Andy, was too heavy of steering. They had a overwhelming customer/dealer complaint of being to hard to steer. The smaller less agressive 489's help quite a bit, with out giving up a lot of traction, just some ground clearance. Something you might want to take a look at is your toe in toe out measurements. They seem to wander even when they are new from the factory.

Man, I though I was reading some up-to-date stuff. I never once noticed the older dates on them until Andy said something. Though it doesn't pertain to me or my quad, it was quite interesting to me and somewhat amusing.

Where's gorden?
Sounds to me like front differenchill. (Man I butchered that word up but good).

You may want to try a non-locking, Racheting, Dif'Kit.I've seen them in the mags but the last time I did anything like that was on my 4x4 truck. It's a whole different world after doing it.

You know what. I didn't realize the dates either, but I almost flipped at the, as you put it "familiar face". Maybe he will see it too.

This problem is old hat. I just dug up this post for the fun of it. I also haven't seen CAT500 on here in a long while so he probably won't be replying to anything. The difference is indeed the tires. Look at the original date on the first post. July. That was right after Atving changed up the site. It used to be a lot simpler than it is now, but not really as good. Of course we all had our complaints about the changes at first, but its just normal now.

hehehe that was a good one Andy...on the dates...well the dealer did tell me that is what made the steering better on the 2000 models cause I kinda wanted the 26"ers off the 99 model on my AC 500 auto but I have no complaints on the steering and what ones I do I consider it a work out...no pain no gain have a good one Andy hope you get your steering straightened out without you trading hate to see you leave the AC Post...

I was pissed about the steering back in July when I originally put this on here. It doesn't bother me much now. I added a little pressure to the front tires and it helped. The reason that I dug this up was because it was the oldest post in this forum and I thought it would be neat to move it from last to first. I have driven the 454 with the 25x10-12 titans on it and it is night and day. My tires are worn down a bit, they still have good tread, but not like they used to and it steers easier with wear.
