The 650 I was considering sold before I could make an offer. I found a 2007 500 auto for $4800. The machine looks great and has very little wear/mileage/hour.

Has anyone ridden a sportsman 500 to compare to the Artic Cat 500 as far as speed / power?

I purchased the wife an 04 Sportsman HO and do not want ot be smoked.

 

I have not ridden a PoPo 500.
The 500 AC is no lightning bolt but I doubt the 500 PoPo is either.
Check around on new prices, thye have a $800 off and 3.9% financing deal going on on some models right now.
And you have a warranty on a new one.

The Sportsman 500 is definitely faster the Arctic Cat 500. The Cats are lower geared and have a wet clutch set up that also robs speed but is a much better set up for a work horse or for the mud bogs. I have not ridden or even heard of any reports on the new 550 Cat so I can't comment. If you want a great all around used Cat, get the 07 700 EFI. Has good speed and great low end torque with a proven bullet proof motor.
