Yep, sounds like the pistons in your calipers are maxed, but there is not enough brake pad to keep tension on them. A loose axle nut will also cause this.

There are a lot of other companies that make them. I use a semi metalic brake.

I bought a complete set for 30 on ebay. What i do is take a cuttin wheel, and a dremel, and cut a X from top to bottom on each end of the new pads. You dont want to cut deep, just enough to allow the water and mud to have a place to run off. They will last just about 2 times longer.

I would agree with catkrazy I would take the wheels off check your pads replace any worn ones if you still have the same trouble i am afraid you are a victim of the master cylinder bypassing there is no rebuild for this available but I just got a quote for one today of $138.79 canadian so if you are in U.S. probably cheaper.

Wheel bearings that are a little sloppy can cause this as well. But if this is the case it goes away if you pump the brake handle.

The wheel wobbles and pushes the plungers and brakes way back and you have to pump the brakes to make good solid contact.

Good suggestion on the groove CatKRazy I will have to try that one.

I dont go that deep.
Maybe a 1/16th. Its shallow but its deeper than a scribe. You just want a clean cut. It might be a qrt of a the thickness that the pads are.

I use aftermarket pads.
I have re-cut the lines before, but by the time it gets to that point, you dont realize it because its been so long. The next thing you know, you need new pads.
