Default dead cat, electrical problem

Coming in from duck hunting the other day and I get off my cat to turn a pipe drain up. I stepped off and it went dead. Had no power anywhere. I turned the key off and on several times then out of nowhere it had power again, cranked and came home.

Got home and it does this again, this time it still has no power. Checked everything I can think of. Any thoughts?

Yes he means the group under or along the steering column. There is a plug that can get stuck and come unplugged. It goes to the ignition key so you would loose power and it should not even pull start.

This is assuming all the connections at the battery are clean and tight.

BTW, I put a test light on the solenoid. I am getting nothing on the right side of it with the key on or off. The only fuse that is hot in the box is the acc fuse. Nothing else powers up even with the key on. I have check the ground, everything is ok there. Is this solenoid or the key switch, or something else?

Need to get this worked out and don't want to spend $75 an hour at my local Cat Shop.

Make sure your kill switch is ok. I would then start at the ignition switch and see if your getting any power back to the starter/solenoid. If no power there, you have a bad wire or fuse. If your getting power to the starter/solenoid and it still does not turnover, either your starter or solenoid is bad. My guess would be the either the kill switch or the ignition switch.
