Question about braking on a cat
#1
I have been looking at the cats in my local cabelas store and was just wondering about the braking system. With the one lever on the handle bars are there any issues with braking going down a steep hill or if one must back down a steep hill? I've never ridden a cat and was just curious. I've just been exposed to independent front and rear braking.
Thanks

no, no isissues. if the hill is steep, put in 4 wheel drive and 1st gear, low (or low if auto) and you wont have to touch the brakes. The bike will literally hold itself back and crawl down without sliding at about 1-2 mph. Great engine braking on the autos.

The handbrake controls the two front binders and the one rear binder at the same time. The footbrake only controls the single rear binder. These bikes are only equipped with three calipers. Two on the front and one on the right rear.
