Lemon???

Can anybody give me some advice? I bought a 2008 arctic cat 700 EFI LE 4 months ago. I have 140 miles on it and I have had it in the shop 5 times. I bought brand new because I did not want to deal with problems. I am very disappointed and I was wondering if Minnesota has a lemon law on ATV's. The problems that I have had are..... blown rear diff seal, steering bushing replaced at about 20 miles, bad bearing in the clutch, leaking over flow in the rear end and air bubbles coming out of brake reservor. My local dealer has been handling the repairs in a timely manner but I am very frustrated. Do you think Arctic Cat would help me out? Thanks!

wow, if that keeps up the AC is gona nickle and dime you to death... get rid of it. in the shop 5times in 4 months, thats not a good sign. see if AC will help you at all, but generally they will say its your problem after the warranty runs out. every brand has a lemon once in a while, havent heard of too mane problems with the AC 750's

Besides the bearing issue, I don't think those problems are enough to either call it a lemon or sell it. The blown seal and leaking rear end are both due to overfilling with gear oil. The bushing is a wearable part, and AC's aren't the greatest to start with. Finally, follow your brake line to ensure that everything is tight, check for a good seal on the resevior cap, and bleed the brakes. Also, buy a shop manual and get your hands dirty, because the dealer could be the real lemon.

Hey Maley,
Hope you have better luck than I have with my lemon 2004 400 TBX
It has been back 8 times to dealer for several different items. Spoke to AC and they said that all units are sold to the dealer and only dealer could buy it back if your unhappy. AC washed there hands basically. FYI I've only bought it 2 Months ago.

sorry to hear you guys have had so many problems with your cats. I wouldnt blame you if you wanted to get id of it, especialy if they were new when you bought them. Ive had 3 cats since 1999 and i love them. Ive gotten 17 riders that rode other brands or were new to atving go to cat over the past 5 years and out of all of them, three guys have had problems with their bikes. One is me, my brakes have to be pumped to be able to work on my 2002 500, an other guy has rear diff seal leaking on his 06 500, and my neighbor had his accuator go out for his 4 wheel drive on his 04 400, other than that nobody has had any issues with anything else, unless they were at fault. I just bought a 700 in sept. along with 2 other friends and us 3 havent had any problems with them so far either. mine has 320 miles on it. Like i said, sorry to hear your guys problems and that you are now driven away from cats. good luck with your next purchases.

Sorry to hear about your issues with you AC's. I have an '07 500 manual with about 1750 miles on it. It has only been in the shop twice. Once for a water pump seal and once for a wiring problem. However, I am sure that I (or my kids) somehow had something to do with these problems. My cousin has an '07 650 and he has replaced the motor three times. All his fault. We have learned alot about waterproofing these cats in the process of him having to change out his motor three times.
