you might want to try pulling the green fuse, or the battery for 5min to "re-set" your cluster. They can sometimes wig-out for no apparent reason.
If that doesn't work re-trace all your wiring. If you had it all apart, either something isn't plugged in right, or you may have a dead short against the frame somewheres.
